Varenyky are dumplings stuffed with sweet or savoury fillings like potatoes, cheese or berries. They are symbols of prosperity and family, and hold deep cultural importance because their crescent shape mimics the new moon, which ancient traditions linked to fertility and a good harvest. These dumplings are often made as a family or community activity, and for many displaced Ukrainians they are a powerful link to home and culture. Places are very limited and pre-booking is essential.
