As part of Foodwave, Café Vegu is hosting a special evening celebrating Chuseok, Korea's harvest festival. For one night, Café Vegu transforms after dark for an intimate evening of creative Korean-inspired vegan food, drawing on the flavours, ingredients and traditions of this special time of year. Expect seasonal produce, Korean flavours and familiar Café Vegu favourites alongside new dishes created especially for the evening. Six courses, entirely vegan, one night only. The full menu is being kept under wraps and will be revealed closer to the event. £55 per person for six courses. Places are limited to keep the evening intimate.

Harvey's Brewery is opening its hidden theatre and private bar inside their Depot in Lewes for our first ever Common Cause Talk. Grab a pint from the bar and a pizza from Pat's Pizza truck, and join local producers, growers, chefs and food thinkers for an honest conversation about how our local food system works, where the opportunities are, and what Lewes and Sussex could build together. Free, limited spaces.

Community Chef is delighted to be hosting Mexicantina for an evening of food and fiesta. Join chef Derren Mallet for a delicious three-course meal with authentic dishes from across Mexico. Derren is a career chef and cookery teacher whose culinary and surfing adventures have taken him many times to Mexico, where he has immersed himself in the local food and culture. Menu: welcoming drink, totopos, guacamole and salsa; quesadillas, fish and chicken tacos, beef enchiladas; chilli-spiked chocolate pots. This is a set menu, but dietary requirements can be catered for, please give details when booking. £32 per person. Places are limited.

Join Liudmyla and Svitlana for a hands-on workshop and shared meal making varenyky, one of Ukraine's most iconic dishes. Varenyky are dumplings stuffed with sweet or savoury fillings like potatoes, cheese or berries. They are symbols of prosperity and family, and hold deep cultural importance because their crescent shape mimics the new moon, which ancient traditions linked to fertility and a good harvest. These dumplings are often made as a family or community activity, and for many displaced Ukrainians they are a powerful link to home and culture. Places are very limited and pre-booking is essential.
